About the Role

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while contributing to the business’s strategic growth plans. You will be hands-on in producing accurate financial information, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and driving improvements in financial processes.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will also provide insights that support decision-making and help guide the business through its next phase of expansion.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting

  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures

  • Provide management accounts, variance analysis, and financial commentary to the leadership team

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners

  • Mentor and develop a small finance team, instilling a culture of accuracy and accountability

  • Contribute to system improvements and automation projects to enhance efficiency


Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong technical and commercial acumen

  • Previous experience within an SME or fast-growing business, ideally in technology or related sectors

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls, and compliance

  • Ability to operate strategically while also being hands-on

  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence at board level

  • A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic and evolving environment
